What is a waterless car wash? Is it different from a quick detailer or spray wax? Is it good for my car?
Washing your car without using water is quickly becoming the new standard in detailing. Over the last decade people have become more and more aware of the damage we cause to the earth. Clean water is one of the most valuable resources we have, and we can all make a huge difference. I will get into the specifics in another blog but one quick fact, the average car wash uses 80 gallons of water. 60% of the pollution in our waterways is from household run off. Washing your car with a waterless wash will make a drastic difference.
So how does it work? First of all I need to point out that cleaning wax is not designed to wash your truck after mud bogging. It is a maintenance wash. Normal road grime. When you spray the cleaner on your car the wax works as a lubricant getting under the dust and grime. As you wipe with a microfiber towel the contaminates are lifted off your paint. Then by polishing with a second clean micro you will leave a layer of wax to shine and protect the vehicle. It's that easy.
Why so many names? This will vary from company to company. I can't speak for all of them. Clean Green Wash & Wax products are designed to be simple. One bottle to clean and protect. We just call it Cleaning Wax.
